Here It Goes (Again)
Leaves fall from the trees
Willing to die
Silhouetted against
A boiling October sky
Naked, skeletal, devoid of life
Calling out to me?
Some primeval voice
A sharp scent in a cold wind
Take me back in time once more
Take me back again
Hold my hand
Commit the sin
The trees explode with fire
As clouds reflect infernos flames
The mirror – my desire
Days and months the years grind by
Time chips away the soul
Please let me stand
And let me hold
The one who makes me whole
Drink from this cup my bitterness
Eat of this bread my hate
Take all that’s left
I want no more
There isn’t time to wait
My sentence served
A pledge fulfilled
I row to a new shore
Crush me into life dear God
And kill my soul once more
