An Understatement

An Understatement

Where are you?
I can’t see you
I scream as I look into your eyes
They do not reflect me
The moment is lost in the endless background noise
Of a thousand seemingly random movements of her mind

The last few bricks in a wall of isolation
And alienation I even now break away
You take to create your own
The same impenetrable architecture I so fondly embrace
And despise
A divine creation to cherish and loathe
Bricks of hurt, pain and frustration
Mortar of tears
Perhaps in this even love will not erode

Finally!
That sparkle – a glimmer only for a second
But endless in it’s power
A hole in the fortress
(Even you need to escape I see)
Your gaze has not gone unnoticed
Did you know it was there?
I had hope and have been rewarded
Not a miracle – but the Truth
A phenomena in which we will forever be united
